With the exception of Frogkisser! by Garth Nix, all of this week's recommendations are based on tales readers know, like Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. Even Leigh Bardugo's The Language of Thorns uses traditional myths, legends, and folklore in three of her six short stories. However, for fans of magic and tales of adventure, there is plenty of original storytelling here for you as well! Why not stop by the library in another two weeks and check out one of these books?
Fairy tales and classic retellings not your favorite genre? Follow me on Twitter (@ccls531) or scroll through the blog to see other recommendations from the summer. There's likely something to appeal to your reader sense!
