It's Almost Book Fair Time!

After not having in-person book fairs last fall, we elementary and middle school librarians have gained permission to hold fairs in our buildings this month around conferences time. Students and adults already in the buildings will be able to browse--and purchase, if they'd like--books and other goodies from our Scholastic fairs.

Middle school students recently received a fair flyer in Literacy Studies class, and you can access an online version HERE.

Students will be able to shop the book fair during Literacy Studies classes, as well as before and after school. We can accept cash or debit/credit cards, and new this year, we are encouraging families to use Scholastic's eWallet accounts. Families can create eWallet accounts from the MS book fair webpage, and students can then shop the fair using electronically deposited funds. Any money remaining in eWallet accounts at the fair's end will not be refunded. Students received eWallet information along with their book fair fliers.

Like our fall fair, this one is also accessible online, where students and families can access thousands of books and other items. With just a $25 book purchase, items will ship free to your home. You can access the online book fair HERE.

Looking for some quick information and details about the book fair? Families received emails from our main office with an attached letter, and you can also access it HERE.
We're very excited to be able to bring an in-person book fair to students this spring! If you have any questions, please reach out to the school main office to be put in touch, or families are welcome to email me; please see the letter above for contact information. Happy reading!

Our Fall Book Fair is Online!

With the state of things as they are, our fall book fair has moved to an entirely virtual format. While we will miss sharing our space with families during our student-lead conferences evenings, a virtual fair does allow us to extend our dates and offer students an extended look at the fair during Literacy Studies classes.

Here's the "need to know" about our virtual fair:
  • WHEN: Mon. Nov. 2 - Sun. Nov. 15
  • WHAT: More than 200 popular and new titles, along with value packs and book fair exclusives. Thousands of titles and reading-related merchandise also available from The Scholastic Store Online.
  • WHY: To support a love of reading and to support our school
In addition to shopping our school's virtual book fair, you also have the opportunity to shop the Scholastic Store Online when you access our book fair website:

Want to explore the fair a little more? You're welcome to check out our Fall Book Fair Choice Board! Just click on the link in the caption to access it.

While the shopping experience is a little different, we hope you'll join us in supporting reading and literacy and our school by shopping our book fair. Thank you in advance!

It's Spring Book Fair Time!

Springtime conferences means it's time for our DCG Middle School Book Fair. Again this time, we're using Follett Book Fairs.
Students will have the opportunity to browse the book fair from their Literacy Studies class, and of course, we'd love to have students and their families stop during conferences on Tues. Mar. 12 and Thurs. Mar. 14, 3:00 - 8:00.

Like our Fall Book Fair, we will have a variety of selections related to books students themselves chose, including sports nonfiction, value books, Grades 7 - 9 award winners, and middle grade paperback award winners.

If you'd like to shop but aren't sure you're able to stop by during the fair, please consider purchasing an online Follett Book Fair gift card you can print from home or access via email.
The recipient can use the card use during the fair, and with an unused balance, the recipient can shop online. You can access the online gift cards CLICKING HERE.

Hope to see you at our Follett Book Fair!

It's Book Fair Time!

Conferences are next week, so that means it's time for our book fair! This year we're using a different vendor--Follett Book Fairs. We already purchase many of our books from Follett, so it's a great fit to bring them on board for our book fairs. Take a look!

Students voted early in the school year to choose different bundles of books that would be available at the fair, and they chose things like sports fiction, graphic novels, young adult literature, and popular series books to include. All of that--and a lot more!--are available, and you can even order online at www.follettgift.com if you'd like an even broader selection.

The fair is open daily for students to make purchases, and families are invited to stop in during conferences on Tuesday and Thursday. Teacher wish lists will be available if you'd like to make a purchase for a teacher's classroom, and if an item is out of stock, we can drop-ship titles within a day or two of your visit. We're excited to show off our new fair and hope to see you there!
